Honest Web4Africa Review: Good or Bad Web Host?

This is a review of Web4Africa, a web hosting company in Nigeria and some African countries.

Web4Africa is hosting company with branches in Ghana, South Africa and Kenya and it has its capital in Nigeria.

As you would expect, they come with affordability but we know that’s secondary. Our primary concern is the reliability and we look at different factors like uptime, server speed, support and security. Other things can be tolerated given the amount paid for the service.

If you need a 100% reliable host then we strongly recommend BlueHost.

Web4Africa Domain Prices

The price od the .com.ng domain extension is #1,575. You can find out the price of any domain extension by typing your domain name including the extension in the search field and checking the availability. If available it will be displayed with price beside it.

Website Speed

They have super fast servers which make websites or blogs hosted on them easy to access.

Testing for speed using GTMetrix, I was able to access a blog hosted on Web4Africa servers in less than 2 seconds (1.54sec) which is the acceptable range.

High Uptime

They ensure a 99.9% uptime which means your website is live all the time. Remember this is one of the most important factors when choosing a hosting company and some hosting company promises 99.9% uptime even though it is not so in reality.

Support

Last, support is the major drawback with Web4Africa. Not that there is no support at all but there is no active phone number one could reach them in case of a quick problem that needs an immediate solution.

Unlike DomainKing web host company where you could easily call their customer care and get an immediate response to reach Web4Africa support, you must go through their site and open a ticket. What this means is that you have to send mail and wait for a response.

Not that I had a problem using their service but I had to ask a question through an opening ticket which I was impressed by the response time. It was almost immediately as if one is chatting with another fellow using a social app like WhatsApp.

Then I could understand why they did not pay much attention to the phone lines.

Do we recommend Web4Africa?

Looking at all the factors we say YES! They offer very fast server which is the most important factor most times and you also like the free stuff they give when you buy their hosting plan for a year.
